Rob Gerrand, Principal
Rob Gerrand founded Gerrand & Associates in 1998 as a consultancy with a focus on brand, change management and repositioning organisations, and increasingly on governance. He has worked in government, transport, telecommunications, finance, agriculture and the arts, and has won the prestigious Golden World and Golden Quill international public relations awards. In 1994 he was appointed Adjunct Professor of Arts at Deakin University.
Rob is also a director of SANE Australia, The Dax Centre and Melbourne Primary Care Network, and is Chair of Director Next. Former board positions include Chairman of Parks Victoria and of Healthy Parks Healthy People Global Ltd, Director of the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, the Mental Health Research Institute, Alfred Health, and of the Financial Planning Association of Australia. He is a former Head of Group Public Affairs at ANZ Banking Group, a former Director of national marketing and public relations consultancy Turnbull Fox Phillips, and he set up the marketing and public affairs functions at the Victorian Arts Centre. He has managed media for the Victorian government for the tours of Her Majesty the Queen and the Pope.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and of the Australian Marketing Institute, and a former Councilor of the Public Relations Institute of Australia, Rob has been awarded the PRIA Certificate of Appreciation for outstanding service to the public relations profession in Australia.
His books Rewrite Your Life! [2002] and Rewrite Your Relationships! [2004], co-written with Eve Ash and published by Penguin, show how individuals and organisations can change and entrench new behaviours.
